Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister Nyesom Wike has approved the implementation of a new minimum wage of ₦70,000 for employees under the FCT Administration.
During a press briefing in Abuja, Mrs. Grace Adayilo, the Acting Head of the Civil Service for the FCT, announced this on Tuesday.
The decision aims to enhance the welfare of civil servants in the capital territory.
Adayilo's Press Secretary, Ewhenji Anthony Odey, shared the policy details, signaling the administration's commitment to addressing workers' economic concerns.
Along with the new wage, Mrs. Adayilo revealed that the Minister also approved payment of three months’ arrears for all staff, starting in November 2024.
This decision reflects the Minister’s commitment to enhancing the welfare of FCT Administration employees.
Mrs. Adayilo noted that this initiative is expected to motivate the entire workforce to actively support the minister in delivering on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's Renewed Hope Agenda.
