Ripples Nigeria

Labour Party’s 2023 Lagos State governorship candidate, Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour, has announced his intention to contest in the 2027 election.

Speaking on Gold Room, a show hosted by Nollywood actress Iyabo Ojo, Rhodes-Vivour emphasized the importance of maintaining active opposition to ensure accountability and foster democratic progress in Lagos State.

He said: “By God’s grace, I will run for governorship again in 2027.

“We are working. We gained a lot of traction, saw our mistakes. We saw the loopholes we made, and we’re working on that.

The LP candidate identified the trend of opposition parties fading into silence after elections as a major mistake in Lagos politics.

“I think the biggest mistake that has happened in Lagos politics is after elections, the opposition goes quiet. That is not happening this time,” he stated.

The Architect-turned-politician pledged to maintain a strong presence in the state, engage in health outreaches and hold the government accountable for its actions
