Former Senate Chief and Chairman of the Senate Committee on South East Development Commission (SEDC), Senator Orji Uzor Kalu, has called on former President Ibrahim Babangida (IBB) to publicly reveal the individuals responsible for the annulment of the June 12, 1993, presidential election, which was won by the late Moshood Kashimawo Abiola.

Speaking to members of the Senate Press Corps in Abuja, Kalu urged IBB to include a detailed account of those involved in the second edition of his autobiography, "Journey in Service."

Meanwhile, Kalu reaffirmed his stance that the All Progressives Congress (APC) has no vacancy for any presidential candidate in 2027 other than President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, dismissing speculations about a leadership change within the party.

Kalu said IBB should name the accomplices of his Second- in Command, late General Sani Abacha, and the Chairman of the National Election Commission, Humphrey Nwosu so that Nigerians will know the role they all played and it would not look as if he’s lying.

For the first time in 32 years, IBB admits in his now highly debated book that MKO Abiola, candidate of the Social Democratic Party, (SDP) won the election.

Kalu said he has no doubt Abiola won the election, calling on President Bola Tinubu to swear him in posthumously and have his picture allowed to hang in the Hall of Fame of former Presidents of the country.

“Yes, Abiola won the election and there’s no doubt about that I would like them to put Abiola’s picture where other presidents’ pictures are put in. If he won the election he was not sworn in. I will as I will appeal to President Ahmed Tinubu, to swear him in post-mortem and also allow his picture to be where you have the former president.
