The Lagos State Government has ramped up its enforcement of the State Environmental Laws of 2017, shutting down several businesses and religious institutions on Tuesday for violations.

During an operation in the Ojo Local Government Area, the Lagos State Environmental Protection Agency sealed off churches, hotels, bars, an event center, and a recycling company, marking a significant step in the state's efforts to uphold environmental standards.

The facilities, according to the agency, were all found to allegedly violate the state’s strict environmental standards,

The General Manager of LASEPA, Babatunde Ajayi, emphasized the agency’s commitment to upholding environmental standards across the state.

“We will not hesitate to take necessary actions against any establishment that fails to comply with the state’s environmental regulations, and we urge all businesses to take responsibility for their environmental impact and work with the state government to create a better future for Lagos,” Ajayi stated.

He reaffirmed LASEPA’s dedication to ensuring a clean and safe environment for all Lagosians, warning that the agency will persist in monitoring compliance and taking firm action against any establishments that violate the law.
