A Lekki estate resident, previously declared wanted for involvement in illicit drug dealings, has surrendered to the NDLEA. Naija News reported that Aderinoye, who had been evading arrest since a January 2024 raid linked her to drug activities, turned herself in on August 28, 2024.
According to NDLEA spokesperson Femi Babafemi, following intelligence reports on her criminal activities, the declaration was made after she fled her residence.
Aderinoye, who previously held the title of Miss Commonwealth Nigeria Culture 2015/2016 and is the founder of the Queen Christmas Foundation, had reportedly been hiding in Akure, Ondo State since escaping the initial raid.
During the raid at her home, NDLEA operatives, in the presence of estate representatives, discovered 606 grams of Canadian Loud (a potent strain of synthetic cannabis), an electronic weighing scale, significant quantities of drug packaging materials, and a black RAV 4 SUV with Lagos license plates, among other items.
In related operations, NDLEA agents seized 1,122 kilograms of cannabis from a suspect named Mustapha Ibrahim along Orchid Road in Ajah, Lagos State, on Monday, August 26.
