A coordinated effort by LASTMA, FRSC, and LASEMA successfully rescued a driver trapped beneath a container in Lagos. According to Adebayo Taofiq, Director of Public Affairs for LASTMA, the victim received prompt medical attention after being rushed to the hospital by the rescue team.
Security during the operation was managed by Kirikiri Police Division officers, ensuring a safe environment for responders.
The trapped Toyota Camry was also recovered during the operation.
Taofiq said efforts to evacuate the fallen container are in full swing, while LASTMA officers continue to manage the scene to ease traffic congestion and restore normalcy.
The General Manager of LASTMA, Olalekan Bakare-Oki, reiterated the critical importance of truck drivers and owners properly securing containers.
He stressed that negligence in this regard endangers lives and property, urging strict compliance with road safety protocols to avert such catastrophic occurrences.
