Minister of State for Defence, Dr. Bello Muhammad Matawalle, warmly received President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in Cape Town, South Africa, ahead of the 11th session of the Nigeria-South Africa Bi-National Commission (BNC).

The BNC serves as a pivotal platform for strengthening diplomatic, economic, and cultural ties between the two nations. President Tinubu’s visit underscores Nigeria’s commitment to enhancing its partnership with South Africa in key areas of mutual interest.



In a statement issued on Monday, Ahmad Dan-Wudil, Special Assistant on Media, described the meeting as a critical opportunity to deepen bilateral cooperation.

“The Bi-National Commission serves as a strategic framework for deepening bilateral relations, addressing shared challenges, and unlocking opportunities for collaboration in areas such as trade, investment, security, education, and cultural exchange,” the statement read.

President Tinubu and his South African counterpart are expected to discuss strengthening partnerships and promoting regional stability during the session.
