The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has announced the suspension of Bachelor of Laws (LL.B) programmes in eight Nigerian universities for the 2025/2026 academic session.

This decision follows the Council of Legal Education’s (CLE) suspension of the Law programs at these institutions. Dr. Fabian Benjamin, JAMB’s Public Communications Advisor, disclosed the development on Wednesday in Abuja, listing the affected universities as Kwara State University, Bingham University, Redeemers University, Western Delta University, Taraba State University, Arthur Jarvis University, Alex Ekwueme Federal University, and the Nigerian Police Academy.

JAMB warned that it would not process admissions for Law programs at these universities for the specified academic session, emphasizing compliance with regulatory standards. This move highlights ongoing efforts to ensure quality legal education in Nigeria.

“As a result, JAMB will not approve any admissions for candidates seeking to enroll in the Law program at the aforementioned universities for the 2025/2026 academic session.

“Furthermore, the ban on registration for the Law program at the Nigerian Police Academy will extend into the 2026/2027 academic session,” the Board stated.
