Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan has accused Senate President Godswill Akpabio of making repeated sexual advances towards her, alleging that his hostility and antagonism toward her stemmed from her refusal to yield to his advances.
In her claims, Akpoti-Uduaghan alleged that Akpabio frequently made intimate calls to her late at night, which she often put on speaker with her husband present.
Reacting to the allegations, Mrs. Ekaette Unoma Akpabio, wife of the Senate President, dismissed the claims as baseless.
However, former Vice President Atiku Abubakar and the Country Director of ActionAid Nigeria (AAN), Andrew Mamedu, called for a thorough investigation, cautioning against outright dismissal of the allegations without due process.
The accusations have further intensified the political tension between Akpoti-Uduaghan and Akpabio, with calls for an independent probe to ensure accountability and transparency.
