Governor Charles Soludo Named The Sun’s ‘Governor of the Year 2024’ for Transforming Anambra

Anambra State Governor, Prof. Charles Chukwuma Soludo, has been honored as ‘Governor of the Year 2024’ by The Sun Newspaper, in recognition of his credible leadership, visionary governance, and remarkable achievements across key sectors in Anambra State.

The prestigious award was presented at a ceremony held at Eko Hotel and Suites, Victoria Island, Lagos, on March 1, 2025. The event was attended by top government officials, senators, captains of industry, and prominent figures from both the public and private sectors, who commended Governor Soludo for his outstanding infrastructural development and transformational policies.

Governor Soludo’s administration has made significant strides in education, healthcare, road infrastructure, innovation, human capital development, economic growth, and security, earning him widespread accolades for driving progress and sustainable development within a short period in office.



Presenting the prestigious award, the Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Mrs. Biance Ojukwu, supported by the publisher of the Sun Newspaper, Senator Orji Uzo Kalu, eulogised Governor Soludo for his visionary leadership in steering the affairs of the state to an enviable height, with developmental projects that underscores his sincere commitment to making Anambra a destination, where economic and business activities thrive.

She averred that Soludo, the erstwhile Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), has truly redefined governance with series of initiatives in making Anambra a homeland where people can live, invest, learn, work, relax, and enjoy.
