The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command has successfully neutralized a notorious terrorist, Salisu Mohammed, also known as ‘Dogo Saleh’, who was behind multiple attacks in Abuja and surrounding communities.
According to SP Josephine Adeh, the Police Public Relations Officer, the operation was part of an intensified counter-kidnapping strategy aimed at dismantling criminal networks responsible for abductions and violent attacks along the Kaduna-Lokoja-Enugu highway and within the FCT.
The breakthrough came on March 3, 2025, when Anti-Kidnapping Unit operatives strategically blocked access routes used by the gang, leading to a confrontation that resulted in Dogo Saleh’s elimination.
Authorities have assured residents that security forces remain committed to eradicating criminal elements and restoring peace in the region.
The PPRO added that on March 4, the operatives, leveraging intelligence provided by the arrested suspect, launched a high-risk follow-up operation to dismantle the suspect’s gang members.
She said the suspect led the Anti-Kidnapping Unit to Kwasau Forest, Kagarko LGA, Kaduna State, where members of his gang, led by one Abdu Musa, alias Kanabaro, had established a major hideout.
“Upon arrival, the police team was ambushed by armed bandits attempting to free the suspect.
“The operatives swiftly engaged the criminals in a fierce gun battle, displaying superior tactical expertise and resilience.
“The bandits were ultimately overpowered and forced to flee into the forest with severe gunshot wounds.
