A student of the Delta State College of Nursing Science, identified as Osato Edobor, is under disciplinary review for recording and posting an unauthorised TikTok video during the official visit of Nigeria’s First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu.

In a statement signed on March 27, 2025, by the institution’s provost, Mrs. Eshegaghe Rita Ogonne, the school confirmed that Edobor breached protocol during the First Lady’s participation at the Renewed Hope Initiative Health Programme, held at the Dome Event Center in Asaba.

During the event, Senator Tinubu oversaw the distribution of 10,000 professional kits—including Crocs and medical scrubs—to midwives from across the South-South geopolitical zone. The college reiterated its commitment to discipline, decorum, and upholding ethical standards in healthcare education.

Authorities have not disclosed the specific content of the video, but the incident has raised broader concerns about professionalism and digital conduct among student nurses during high-level public engagements

However, according to a viral video on social media, participants at the programme were heard chorusing a song in honour of Tinubu’s wife with ‘na your mama be this’.

Reacting, the school authority signed a press release in a statement signed by the provost of the Delta State College of Nursing Sciences, Mrs Eshegaghe Rita Ogonne on 27th March 2025, stated that Edobor was allegedly involved in a “malicious act of recording/singing and posting an unofficial response to a song during the arrival of the First Lady” on her TikTok page.
