President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is set to depart Nigeria today, Wednesday, April 2, for a two-week working visit to Paris, France, aimed at evaluating his administration’s ongoing reforms and shaping strategic development priorities for the year ahead.

According to a statement released by Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, the retreat will serve as a platform for the president to assess midterm performance, review the impact of key policy initiatives, and refine strategies for accelerating economic growth and national development.

The visit, described as a working retreat, comes as Tinubu nears the completion of his first year in office, with a strong focus on economic stabilization, governance reforms, and national renewal. The presidency emphasized that the trip is not for leisure but part of a broader plan to align government actions with Nigeria’s long-term development goals.

The latest trip to Paris, while described as a working visit, adds to the long list of presidential travels that critics argue contradict Tinubu’s calls for austerity among Nigerians.

“He will also use the retreat to review the progress of ongoing reforms and engage in strategic planning ahead of his administration’s second anniversary.
