The Nigerian National Petroleum Company (NNPC) Limited has reduced the pump price of premium motor spirit (PMS)—commonly known as petrol—across its filling stations in Lagos and Abuja, aligning with the recent ex-depot price cut by Dangote Refinery.
As observed on Monday, petrol is now sold for as low as ₦880 per litre at NNPC retail outlets in Lagos, a ₦45 drop from the previous ₦925. In Abuja, the price has fallen to ₦935, reflecting a ₦15 reduction from the earlier ₦950 rate.
Prices vary slightly across locations:
-
₦880/L at Apple Junction, Lagos
-
₦905–₦910/L at Ago Palace and Idimu Road
-
₦935/L at Airport Road, Lugbe, and Kubwa stations in Abuja
The price drop follows Dangote Refinery’s April 16th adjustment, which saw ex-gantry petrol rates fall to ₦890 per litre, prompting downstream partners to respond accordingly.
This development could signal broader market shifts and potential relief for Nigerian consumers amid ongoing inflationary pressures.
