Operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) have intercepted a daring attempt by Ihensekhien Miracle Obehi, a woman who disguised in a hijab to smuggle cocaine concealed in her private parts, stomach, and a false-bottom handbag to Iran.

Obehi was arrested on Sunday, May 3, 2025, at Port Harcourt International Airport while attempting to board a Qatar Airways flight to Iran via Doha. Intelligence reports led to her interception, and a search revealed:

  • 3 wraps of cocaine hidden in her private part

  • 2 large parcels in her handbag’s secret compartments

  • 67 pellets of cocaine swallowed (after failing to ingest 70)

The total seizure weighed 2.523kg, with NDLEA’s Femi Babafemi confirming she underwent days of excretion observation.

In a related bust, NDLEA operatives at Lagos’ Murtala Mohammed International Airport (MMIA) arrested 22-year-old British national Campell Kaizra Kofi Johannes Slifer on May 9 with 37.60kg of cannabis (Loud) smuggled from Thailand. Slifer, a convicted drug trafficker in the UK, admitted he was recruited in London for the operation.

Additionally, in Niger State, NDLEA intercepted a fuel truck and three vehicles carrying 3,047kg of cannabis (skunk) along the Suleja-Kaduna road on May 7, arresting four suspects.

These operations underscore NDLEA’s intensified crackdown on international drug trafficking and local smuggling networks.
